The second village was also a Cambari people group, pagan people. Everyone was VERY receptive of us and what we shared. It suddenly became cloudy and started to absolutely pour sideways. Everyone ran for shelter but some of us couldn't find much. Eventually those of us standing under a tree saw people waiving to us from a hut and so we went in the hut and started to dry off some for about 45 minutes.
Those two days it was amazing to see how the little girls latched onto Nicole. She is in her element here - much moreso then me. She was also able to teach them how to give their babies the nutrients they need so that they will grow & how to prevent some sicknesses by making & using soap & things like that. She loved on them so much.

This is what a cury plant looks like! the leaves are quite tasty!

Men I could share with.

We were greeted!

We learned that there was one couple who were believers - in 1975 catholic missionaries
came through & since then they have been crying out for some one to help them grow
in their faith & to have some fellow believers. Well, God definately answered that
in a very wild way. We learned that in the village there was an elderly poor widow
who was trying desparately to take care of an orfaned infant - 3 or 4 mo. Old -
whose mother had died & the father was gone.

We took up a collection of about 25000 Niara among the "whites" and those with us.

We did what we could for her health.

It was important that she get better fed so they helped the widow understand what
to do.

He spoke powerfully about something.

Everyone in the village was moved.

After some prayer for her, the widow was overwhelmed and just excused herself. what
a testimony!

That evening we showed the Jesus video in housa to around 300 villagers. The residents
of the first village had all walked to this village since they could not see it
the previous night - At some point that evening before the video the king of the
area came over to talk about why we were here because appearently we had missed
clearing it with him on the timing or something. So when he approached Steve who
was passionately talking with someone, Steve asked him to wait a minute - to hold
on. Oops! Anyway, after some prayer and some apologies they were able to smooth
everything out.

Also that evening I took a rag bath behind a hut with a big pail of water. Their
bathing area isn't very private. A cambari woman acidentally walked up on me but
it was not a big deal for them.s

The medical work was a mess - they were pressing in so hard, we couldn't poke them
quick enough. So we made an assembly line for prepping the vaccinations, and even
people without medical experience like me got involved.

This girl was especially fond of Nicole, and went with her everywhere for the last
24 hours.

This woman was told that Bryce was interested in marrying her, so she was very interested
in that possibility.

The happy couple

"Quick, he's getting away! Chase him!"

The boys showing off their school

This girl really loved Nicole. She wanted to come back with us.
There was a desire to leave after breakfast. So we tore down the tents - not much sleep that night - & we had breakfast.
We had a frenzy of vaccinations again - we had an assembly line & people were pressing in hard to get their children shot for polio, hep B, DTP, tetanus & others. We exhausted our supplies. Then medically-trained folks went to a hut to do private consulting for a while. My guitar friend and I pulled out the guitars and played for the folks for an hour or two.
When we finally left, all the children chased us for maybe a fifth of a mile! so sweet! They definately felt more freedom to give & receive love than the other town who had never heard the good news or hardly interacted with whites ever.

The chickens given to us.
