Carnivore's and more

Drove into Jo'burg, then to Carnivore's. This is a cool restaurant where the exotic meats are cooked on swords and then brought to the table. As long as your flag is up, they will continue to bring you different meats. We had about 10 or so different meats that day (check out the menu). After lunchwe went to the adjacent hotel's spa and bar, while Nick and David showered, I swam in the spa/pool - mostly to make it feel more legit that we were using the showers - then I showered and shaved. Nice! Raced back to airport, we went our own ways. My plane was 2 hours delayed, so I went into a shop and spent the las 35 ZAR I had on a cool SA mug with translations of Afrikans spiritual phrases related to the trinity and so on. Cool! Plane ride home was on the last row of an Airbus A330, a cramped row and next to a big hairy guy. Can you say no sleep?

Pack-n-go. I drove down the pass, which was a nice drive on a clear day and we could see! Kids on horseback.

Luckily these cows decided to go around rather than over us.

Hillside.

I drove quickly into Johannesburg, then over to Muldersdrift in Krugerdorp to find Carnivore! This is it.

We had some time before they were open for serving, so we decided to find this touristy shopping area they knew to go on one last round.

There we found some cool hats. David has a nice SpringBok or Impala fur hat (200ZAR) and I have a "kauffer" (a really derogatory term for the blacks that the older Afrikaners use) hat (20 Rand). We proceeded to sing the songs from "O Brother, Where out thou?" ...."And constant sorrows...."

Back to Carnivore's

This guy was the greeter. He really liked David's hat.

Inside Carnivores. Their ventahood was off, so the entire restaurant had a cool smokey look. This is the roasting rack.

Ummmm...Breesbock!

This is the list of meats for the day, of which all came by our table.

The various sauces for our meats. Good salads as well.

Ummm, Hartebeast.

I found a bee in my chicken wing! It must have been traped when they were sauceing it up!

I went ahead and ate it for posterity, or moreso, for the storey.
